A similar water pump housing case from Motoren Revisie Meijerink was presented as a more complex geomery that includes cavities and bulges.
Digital redesign
The part was scanned with a 3D scanner of 4C,. The shaft with impeller was still in the housing when scanning. We started with an analysis of crucial points, where a precise measure is required. This showed the positioning of the mounting holes and the fit for the bearings.
Printing and processing
The part is too big for the Saxion metal printer. That is why the part SLM was printed at the company K3D and then drummed there.
