Cooling plate electronics (Thales)
• Goal: Design a cooling plate with a high cooling capacity and a low pressure drop that is manufactured by means of 3D metal printing.
• Approach: van den Kroonenberg design methodology.
• Outcome: A cooling plate has now been developed that (with a scaled cooling surface of 4500 mm2) provides 13.6% better cooling and a reduction in pressure drop of 66.5%.
• Profit for the company: prove that by means of 3D metal printing can produce more efficient cooling plates.
